Certification not only goes to support our claims of energy efficiency but also makes it measurable. There are other natural results of the certification. The home appraises for more and that allows for higher levels of financing to cover the costs of energy improvements.
Third party energy consultants provide the target specifications for the home to be energy efficient , makes its recommendations for achieving the target efficiency, ensures that these recommendations are followed during construction , then it measures the efficiency when the home is complete.
We use a couple of parameters to measure the energy efficiency of the home: HERS INDEX and the blower door test. We would like our clients to see in in the form of reduced energy costs and increased living comfort in terms of better indoor air quality.
